Flag Dots

So today was the first day in 2006. I haven’t made a post in a few days because many things have been occupying my time.

Last night, we spent the holiday at the “Just Married” couples party. It was a total blast, which was surprising because there was not liquor served. There were about a dozen pizzas for about a dozen couples. We eventually played a game of the Newlywed Game. Unfortunately, we were not chosen as one of the couples, which was sad because we would have cleaned house with the provided questions. The game still provided to be entertaining given how little it seemed the couples knew one another.

We played a game of pictionary which I surprisingly dominated. It was the boys against the girls. I was selected to draw twice (once beating Crystal at an All-Play) and both times my team guessed my word. I also got a few guesses myself, including the winning guess. The name of this post came from a guess someone shouted while sunshine was drawing “white flag.”

Being the old man I am, we left the party early since I lacked my typical morning pot of coffee. We did watch the ball drop in New York though. The year of 2005 was a rough year for sunshine and I. On Valentine’s Day this year, the company I was working for went out of business, less than a year after we married one another. We spent the first 3 months unemployed. I had saved up a few bucks and was planning on paying some debt off, but this money was used to sustain ourselves. Then I receive two offers for employment and decide on the offer in Dallas. We have spent the last eight months recovering from emptying out our bank accounts.

Here’s to hope for the possibilities in 2006. Lets hope it was nicer on us than 2005. Best wishes to anyone reading this; I hope this year is far better for you than the last.

I’ve seen plenty of marketing that should never have existed, but Sony’s latest attempt to push the PSP takes the cake. They decided to market urban youth by tagging some public property. It hasn’t been determined whether or not this is paid for or just vandalism. Either way, some marketing shlub should be punched in the groin for this.
