I have been working on cleaning up the site and I found yet another theme that was rather impressive. So now I have 2 themes that I really enjoy, but I can’t decide which one I want to use.
First, there is the Contaminated theme, which can be found here. I like the somewhat industrial feel to it.
Then there’s Widget Gets Green, a modified theme called Grey Gets Green. I modified this theme to add widget support and fixed other small glitches. Part of me has a personal attachment to it, but I’m not anchored to it.
Anyone have any preferences? I might have to switch back and forth a few times until I can make up my mind. Post a comment as to which you prefer more.

Well, my Christmas vacation ends today. It’s a real shame as I’ve enjoyed the time off, but I think I’m ready to go back to work and face the office. Last year, I had all the time in the world to goof off and do whatever I wanted. This year, I spent the time doing all of the things that I’ve been putting off for the entire year.
Before the break I posted a list of things on my vacation to-do list. Let me go over the things on this list that I managed to finish:
- Finished unpacking all boxes except for the things that will go in the bookshelf we will buy very soon
- House is clean, finally, with the exception of the kitchen floor and my desk
- I am going to the recycling center today
- Tested all harddrives, 4 work 2 do not. I need to add one to my desktop for compiling room
- Built an Ubuntu MythTV machine, more about this later
- Spent 2 entire days resorting all the paperwork, more than I realized
- Apparently, SMB/CIFS does not support chowning files, so I will just add a spare drive
- I’m on week 3 of training for the half-marathon, ran 7 miles yesterday
- Put up all Christmas decorations, and took them all down last weekend
- Replaced the brakes on the 2002 Accord
- Didn’t really play any games except for CV:PoR, beat it and going for the good ending
So there are some things that I didn’t accomplish that I might try and finish today:
- Didn’t organized a location for all schoolwork
- Didn’t setup a backup system
- Order a new GreenDisk box and ship out the remaining electronic junk
- Sell the old dot-matrix printer ink cartridges
- Rip my TV-DVDs or music CDs
- Tinker with Xgl
- Setup a photo album system that links directly into the blog
- Finish sorting through all of my music
All in all, I feel fairly productive this Christmas break. I enjoyed the time I spent with my family. We bought my dad the first season of The Shield and he managed to get sunshine and I hooked on it. Circuit City had a sale this weekend where each Shield DVD was a meager $18, down from $45, so we bought the rest of the seasons.
My parents also got a new TV so they gave us their outdated 27″ to replace our outdated 19″. It’ll hold us over until we can afford to buy an HDTV. I think our living room is pretty small so anything larger than 40″ is going to be too large. We’ll see what our tax return looks like this year; we may take that money and finish paying off one of the last credit cards (2 left).
Sunshine didn’t take the GMAT so she’ll be taking the semester off and my company paid for my tuition up-front so the only real expenses we’ll have this semester is the GMAT fee and my book (singular, only taking one class). I’m still waiting for the results of the QE I took last month.
Some of you may have noticed that I changed the theme here on zero-blog. I’m still wanting to desperately setup a photo album page that integrates with WordPress. I did play around with MasterWish again but it seems they have feed problems. It’s a neat service, but they really need to fix that problem before I use that on a regular basis. Aside from that, zero-blog is looking better; I even cleaned up the old plugins that I installed and never used but it still needs some more cleanup.
Anyways, here’s to 2007. Chances are, it will be much like 2006 but I have a good feeling about this one. As usual, my only resulution is to not make any resolutions next year and I fully intend on keeping that one.
